PeaZip is an open source file and archive manager: cross platform, available as portable and installable software for 32 and 64 bit Windows and Linux (PeaZip is a desktop neutral application).

PeaZip can extract most of archive formats both from Windows and Unix worlds: currently 129 file extensions are supported ranging from mainstream 7Z, RAR, TAR and ZIP to experimental ones like PAQ/LPAQ family, currently the most powerful compressor available.
For archive creation, PeaZip suppors a wide range of compression and encryption standard, from fastes to most powerful ones, and allows to export job definition as scripts to bridge the gap between GUI and console applications, and let the user pick the best of the two worlds.

Security
PeaZip has secure deletion feature, can verify file checksum and hash, and supports multiple strong encryption standards, optionally using two factor authentication (password and keyfile) for increased security:

* ZIP WinZip's AE encryption based on AES256 (and ZipCrypto for legacy compatibility); can decrypt PKZip's AES encryption
* FreeARC's ARC: AES256, Blowfish, Twofish256 and Serpent256 - this format is also capable to generate recovery records to protect data against corruption

PeaZip позволяет

Кроме того, программа позволяет извлекать содержимое ISO-образов дисков, дистрибутивов программ, созданных при помощи приложения Nullsoft Install System (NSIS), и извлекать файлы сжатых HTML-справок (CHM). При создании архива можно выбирать разные параметры архивации, доступные для того или иного типа архива. К примеру, у архивов формата ZIP можно устанавливать уровень и метод сжатия, пароль на открытие архива и способ создания (новый архив или обновление существующего). Средствами приложения также возможно разбивать большие файлы на равные части определенного размера и собирать их обратно в исходный файл.

Безопасность
PeaZip имеет функцию безопасного удаления, может проверить контрольные суммы и хэш файла, а также поддерживает несколько сильных стандартов шифрования, дополнительно используя два фактора аутентификации (пароль и ключевой файл) для повышения безопасности:
* AES256 7Z's шифрования
* ZIP WinZip's AE шифрование, основанное на AES256 (и ZipCrypto для устаревших совместимость); может расшифровать PKZip's AES
* ARC FreeArc's: AES256, Blowfish, Twofish256 и Serpent256 - этот формат также способны генерировать восстановления записи для защиты данных от коррупции

Release notes
* PeaZip 3.7 improves file navigation in many ways: address bar was simplified and address field is now available as breadcrumb (and alternatively as plain string), navigation bar's modes can be toggled, file manager's icon mode was improved, and now hints about files details are displayed in file manager.
* The new compiler improves enormously the performances of the file browser when browsing paths containing many files.
When creating archives containing multiple files or folders, the archive is named as the parent folder of the items, except if "add to separate archives" option is flagged.
* Application now links to Google Code tracker in help submenu to improve the way users can report issues and suggestions.
* PeaZip Search, powered by Google Custom Search and offering both generic search and thematic search for area of interests (files, images, videos, encyclopedia/knowledge base etc), is now linked in application's menu to offer an handy tool to take information about unknown files, search reliable sources for incomplete or corrupt downloads, and many more.
* Pea backend was updated to 0.35 version; p7zip was updated to 9.20 on Linux, now both Linux and Windows versions rely on latest 7z stable release.
* A total of 129 file extensions are supported, and translations are available in 27 languages.
