Из преимуществ в web reader’ах можно выделить, кросплатформенность – главное что бы браузер правильный был, а на какой оси, хоть linux хоть windows хоть мак – уже без разницы.
вторым преимуществом над настольными ридерами, у веб читалок – это синхронизация. Как дома так и у друзей или в кафе или на работе вы открываете одну и туже страницу с вашими фидами.
С программами на desktop все немного сложнее, конечно для каждой операционной системы есть свои читалки, и в некторых ридерах есть свои синхронизаторы – все таки веб реадеры, по этим 2 параметрам обходят как ни крути. За то у настольных читалок, есть одно большое преимущество – большую часть из них, вы сможете полностью настроить практически все, начиная от горячих кнопок, заканчивая видом всех панелек и самого RSS.
Для себя я уже выбрал подходящую программу – это GreatNews. Во-первых, он бесплатный, во-вторых, там есть отличная штука под названием Blog This с помощью которой, можно настроить добавление в закладки или отправку ссылок, в третих, он быстрый, в четвертых, вид фидов настраивается через css, а на сайте есть достаточный список с различными вариациями ну и наконец синхронизация с Bloglines – вот в принципе и все.
